Welcome to Concordia Acoustics Lab

Concordia Acoustics Lab in Montréal aims to explore architectural acoustics, building acoustics, psychoacoustics, and noise control methods for optimal acoustic performance in buildings. As sound matters!

More specifically, we develop a human-center acoustic design optimization methodology to improve acoustic quality and comfort in building spaces (office, classroom, performing halls) by understanding how occupants perceive sounds. See Research also.

We are affiliated to the Department of Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering in the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science at Concordia University. Our engineering school has been constantly ranked among the top 10 engineering schools in Canada.

We are currently looking for enthusiastic new PhD students, and Master students to join our lab. (more info)

Our current projects are funded from Concordia University, Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, Fonds de Recherche du Québec – Nature et technologies and ASHRAE.
