2 PhD positions available at Concordia Acoustics Lab
Concordia Acoustics Lab in the Department of Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering at Concordia University is currently looking for two motivated PhD students in the area of architectural acoustics and noise control. The successful candidate will participate in the research projects of 1) sound quality analysis of building mechanical systems or 2) optimizing speech intelligibility in offices by using machine learning. We are looking for a candidate with experience in the field of architectural engineering, building HVAC systems, statistics, digital signal processing, programming language (e.g., Python, R, Matlab) and acoustics. An interest in music is a plus. The Department of Building, Civil, and Environmental Engineering at Concordia University has a faculty complement of 42 professors active in various areas of building, civil and environmental engineering and its strength has rapidly grown in recent years. The Department offers PhD, masters and bachelor degrees in Building Engineering, Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering. The Civil Engineering undergraduate program was recently ranked among the top 20 civil engineering programs in the world. Concordia University attracts high quality domestic and international students in all of its programs and has stable and strong enrollment at undergraduate and graduate levels.
